Traditional Weaving at Sukarare Villagesongket sukararaOur first stop today is Banyumulek village, a wonderful pottery village where intricately decorated clay pots are handmade.The ancient traditions have been passed down for generations and tend to involve the whole family, including children who take great pleasure in decorating them.

 

We will then visit Sukerare village, where you will see locals weaving unique Lombok songket and ikat cloths, often using silver and gold thread.

In Dusun Sade in Desa Rambitan, a traditional village inhabited by native Lombok tribes, you will be able to take a glimpse of the Sasak way of life.

Next, we head over to the stunning southern coast of Lombok. Kuta Beach and Mawun are only 5 km apart, and both boast impressive white sandy beaches guarding clear turquoise water perfect for swimming and sun bathing. Don’t forget to bring your bathers and sun screen!
